STATE HOUSE, Providence – Senate Minority Whip Jessica de la Cruz, (R-Dist.23, Burrillville, Glocester, North Smithfield), will deliver the Rhode Island Republican response to the governor’s State of the State address on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
“In a diverse state like ours, people have different views and opinions about the state of our state and I am pleased that Senator de la Cruz will be presenting the Republican response to the governor’s address,” said Senator Minority Leader Dennis L. Algiere. “Our caucus looks forward to presenting solutions to the tough issues facing all Rhode Islanders.”
As she begins her second term, Senator de la Cruz said she is honored to be giving the response.
“I am humbled that my colleagues have entrusted me with their faith and confidence to provide the Republican view of the state of our state, and I am pleased to take this opportunity to provide our vision for a government that values accountability, hope, transparency, and economic opportunity for all Rhode Islanders,” de la Cruz said.
The remote response will be broadcast directly after the governor’s 7 p.m. speech and broadcast on Rhode Island Capitol Television, which can be viewed on Verizon Channel 34; Cox Channel 15, 61, HD 1061; Full Channel 15; and online on-demand at rilegislature.gov.
